Located in a new high end retail development, the intent of this space was to provide a quiet background for the display of eye glass frames that are works of art themselves and are the true focus of the store. Architecturally the emphasis was on ample lighting in an unobtrusive manner. Acrylic boxes drop from the high ceiling bringing a glow to the displays and augmenting traditional downlighting. Cantilevered glass shelves float above simply detailed white millwork containing the majority of the inventory. The gray of the storefront sweeps axially down the center of the store and is anchored with a laser cut eye chart that features the initials of the owner and their family. Back of house service spaces needed to remain open to the store while maintaining the order and cleanliness of the rest of the design.
