Located along Lake Whatcom in a small cove of Agate Bay, the residence provides a quiet retreat situated between the forest and the shore. A cast-in-place concrete spine runs the length of the house, serving as a threshold between public and private spaces within. Wood clad volumes, with sloped roofs that collect rainwater, branch off from that concrete corridor. Each volume provides visual connections to enclosed gardens, courtyards, and the landscape beyond. At the southwest side of the house, a covered patio expands the living space toward the shoreline with views of the sunset over the bay.
